Job Description
Virtual School Social Worker | Illinois School District
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate School-Based Social Worker licensed in Illinois to provide remote services to K-12 students. As a 1099 independent contractor, you’ll collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to address student needs. This fully remote position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives.
Caseload Details:
- Fully remote position working with K-12 grade levels, providing counseling sessions for students needing emotional and learning support.
- Part-time Position: 2-3 days per week
- Flexible schedule offered
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual counseling and support to Illinois K-12 students to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Develop and implement strategies to help students overcome barriers to academic and social success.
- Collaborate with Illinois school administrators, teachers, and families to create a supportive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments and provide interventions aligned with students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Facilitate group sessions on topics such as social skills, coping strategies, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, adhering to Illinois and federal regulations.
- Utilize VocoVision’s teletherapy platform to deliver services effectively.
Requirements:
- Active licensure as a School Social Worker in Illinois
- Professional Educators License in the state of Illinois
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school or virtual setting
- Deep understanding of Illinois school policies and special education requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with teletherapy platforms and virtual communication tools
- Reliable high-speed internet and appropriate equipment for virtual service delivery (e.g., webcam, headset)
