Position Overview:
VocoVision is seeking a passionate and experienced Virtual Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team. As a 1099 contractor, you will be responsible for delivering personalized virtual instruction to students in California’s school districts, ensuring they receive the specialized support they need to succeed academically. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide virtual one-on-one and group instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to each student’s unique learning needs.
Utilize assistive technologies and virtual platforms to enhance communication and learning for students.
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other service providers to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for students.
Document and report student progress in a timely manner in compliance with school district requirements.
Qualifications:
California Certification as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in K-12 education, preferably in a virtual setting.
Strong understanding of the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and familiarity with IEP development.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual setting.
Comfortable with technology and virtual education platforms.
Must have access to a reliable internet connection and the necessary technology to deliver virtual instruction.
