Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled social worker specializing in the school environment. This position is designed for professionals looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of elementary students by providing essential social and emotional support during a long-term leave coverage.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher
- Valid state licensure for social work
- Previous experience working in school settings, particularly with elementary students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Knowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks
Location:
Southington, CT
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, intervention, and support services to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with educational staff to create and implement individualized support plans
- Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions tailored to student needs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and interventions
- Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community services
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive school environment
