Job Description
In a supportive educational environment, there are two exciting opportunities for School Social Workers focused on empowering 7th-grade students. This role is designed for professionals dedicated to fostering the well-being and academic success of middle school students through targeted social work practices.
Qualifications:
- Active MN social work license
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree required
- Experience in school social work, particularly with middle school students
- Strong skills in de-escalation and crisis intervention
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and parents
- Knowledge of substance use counseling and related protocols
Location:
- Aurora, CO
Responsibilities:
- Provide social-emotional support and counseling to students, focusing on crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to address general education student referrals
- Develop and implement individualized support plans for students in need
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff on best practices in managing student behavior and mental health
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and interventions
- Engage with families to strengthen support systems outside of school
