Position Overview:
VocoVision is seeking a skilled and compassionate Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a virtual classroom setting. We work with school districts across the county to help bring services to students no matter their location. This is a remote 1099 contract position, allowing you to live and work anywhere in the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, real-time sign language interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to understand specific communication needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all virtual interactions.
- Adapt interpretation style to support each student’s unique needs and abilities.
- Utilize VocoVision’s online platform to manage schedules, assignments, and communication.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Sign Language Interpreter with an EIPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings.
- Ability to adapt to virtual interpreting technologies and platforms.
