As a school psychologist, you support students’ mental health, learning and behavior. You assist them with the ability to achieve their full academic, social, behavioral and emotional potential. In this role, school psychologists work alongside the students’ families, teachers, school administrators and other professionals to ensure that all needs are being met in order to strengthen connections between home, school and social life.

To become a school psychologist, you must at least have a master’s degree. Often prospective school psychologists go on to get their Doctorate of Education or Doctorate of Philosophy after starting their career or finishing their master’s. Certification requirements differ based on location and state.
