Job Description
Seeking a dedicated professional with expertise in providing therapy services within an educational setting. This role is focused on supporting K-12 students and requires a proactive approach to address diverse student needs through collaboration and direct service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Proven experience in a school environment
- Strong understanding of special education laws and practices
- Ability to develop and implement effective therapy plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to manage a heavy caseload with consults and direct services
Location:
- Alexandria, VA
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to K-12 students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to create and adapt therapy plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and advocate for student needs
- Deliver both direct services and consultative support to enhance student development
- Manage time effectively to ensure all students receive the necessary services
