Job Description
An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to provide essential support in a dynamic K-12 educational environment. This role is focused on addressing the mental health needs of students through counseling and social work services, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all.
Responsibilities:
- Support students facing mild to moderate mental health challenges.
- Administer behavioral health screening tools and assessments to determine the urgency of required responses.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and provide brief emotional support interventions.
- Gather and integrate information on student behaviors to identify necessary supports for their success.
- Offer short-term individual and small-group counseling services, facilitating students' emotional development.
- Make appropriate referrals for students requiring more intensive services.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support building-wide mental health initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Counseling; candidates working towards a master’s degree are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health assessments and interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
