Job Description

This role is dedicated to providing tailored educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) as a primary mode of communication. The position focuses on fostering an inclusive and effective learning environment for elementary school students during the full semester.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong understanding of the needs of deaf or hard of hearing students
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Location:
Las Vegas, NV

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teaching staff
  • Facilitate effective communication and interaction between students and peers
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
