Job Description
This role is dedicated to providing tailored educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) as a primary mode of communication. The position focuses on fostering an inclusive and effective learning environment for elementary school students during the full semester.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong understanding of the needs of deaf or hard of hearing students
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Location:
Las Vegas, NV
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teaching staff
- Facilitate effective communication and interaction between students and peers
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
