What is an LPN/LVN?

Licensed practical nurses (LPN) and licensed vocational nurses (LVN) work under the direction of either an RN and/or a doctor. Professionals in this role have obtained their diploma, certification, or associate degree from an accredited nursing program. In order to be an LPN or an LPV, you must complete at least one year of nursing education and have hands-on experience at hospitals or other healthcare facilities like nursing homes.

After gaining the knowledge necessary, you must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing, the state exam and the NCLEX-PN exam.
