Home Health registered nurses (RN) and nurse practitioners (NP) are specialties who provide one-on-one care for patients in the comfort of their homes. There are several instances where nurses would turn to in-home care for their patients. It is common for the elderly, terminally ill, pregnant women and people recovering from injuries/accidents to get in-home care.

Home Health Nurse Duties
Some of the responsibilities of home health nurses can include:

Home health nurses must have the same educational background as registered nurses and nurse practitioners. That includes an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program, a nursing license from passing the NCLEX-RN exam, state licensure and experience. Nurse practitioners will need a graduate degree and will have to become certified by taking a national certification exam through any of five national certification boards, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the National Certification Corporation (NCC), or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
