Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team. This 1099 independent contractor position allows you the flexibility to work remotely while delivering tailored educational support to students with visual impairments across California. You will have access to a clinical and technical team, as well as a comprehensive toolkit designed to assist in lesson planning and the use of assistive technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide remote, one-on-one or small group instruction to students with visual impairments
Develop and modify individualized lesson plans and resources based on students' needs
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student learning
Implement adaptive technology and accessible resources in virtual lessons
Use a comprehensive digital toolkit to support lesson delivery and student engagement

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, with a focus on Visual Impairments
Valid California certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Previous experience working with students with visual impairments, ideally in a virtual or remote capacity
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Comfortable with digital teaching platforms and assistive technology
