Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH)

Location: Remote (serving students in Nevada)
Contract Duration: ASAP - EOSY
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Are you a passionate and experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) looking for a flexible, fully virtual position? VocoVision is seeking a dedicated educator fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to support students in a Nevada school district. Responsibilities:

Provide virtual instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments.
Use innovative virtual tools and techniques to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success.
Provide resources and training to staff and families to support student communication and learning goals.

Qualifications:

Nevada Teaching License with endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
Comfortable with technology and virtual teaching platforms.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Requirements:

Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace.
Familiarity with virtual learning tools such as video conferencing, online whiteboards, and educational software.
