School-Based American Sign Language Interpreter | Remote

Sunbelt is seeking school based ASL Interpreters for a fully remote position with VocoVision. If you have a passion for student development and a commitment to student success, we’d love to connect!

Caseload Details:

Fully Remote Position interpreting for one student through a Zoom Professional Account
- VocoVision provides Zoom Account
Full Time position: Monday through Friday ~ 37.5 hours
Start Date: Immediate
End Date: remainder of 2024/2025 schoolyear
High Possibility of renewal for 2025/2026 schoolyear
Required Certifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
1099 Contract Position with VocoVision ~ Competitive Hourly Rate

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students, parents, and staff during class sessions, meetings, and activities.
Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and other professionals to support students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Facilitate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and their peers.
Adapt interpretation styles to meet the needs of diverse learners and educational settings.
Troubleshoot and address any technical issues to ensure smooth virtual sessions.

Requirements:

Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
Minimum of 2 years performing ASL interpreting services
Strong familiarity with virtual learning platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, or similar).
Professional Liability Insurance ~ Obtained upon offer
