Job Description

Job Title: Public Health Nurse (School-Based)

Job Summary:

The Public Health Nurse will join our school district and work in a general health room setting. The Public Health Nurse will provide preventive health services and promoting health for our students. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with our school administrators, teachers, parents, and community partners to ensure a healthy and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Screen students for to health concerns and provide referrals for further evaluation and treatment
Maintain health records and ensure compliance with state and local regulations
Work to create effective healthcare plans for managing disease and fighting infections
Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff
Participate in school-based committees and meetings related to health and wellness

Qualifications:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of MN
At least 2 years of experience in public health nursing or school nursing
Knowledge of public health principles and practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
