Job Description

Special Education Teacher – Middle School Language-Based Program near Wakefield, MA

We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for a Middle School Language-Based Program in a welcoming district near Wakefield, MA. This is a full-time opportunity to work with students in a program designed to support their unique learning needs through differentiated instruction.

Position Details:

Start Date/End Date: Current School Year (CSY)
Schedule: Full-time
Caseload: Middle school students in a language-based program
Assignment: One school location

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver curriculum tailored to the needs of language-based students
Differentiate instruction to meet individual student requirements and IEP goals
Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs for students eligible for special education services
Provide ongoing monitoring and support to ensure student progress
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to foster student success
Maintain accurate records of student progress and services

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Certification: Massachusetts Certified Special Education Teacher, Moderate Disabilities 5-8
Licenses: Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License
Additional Training: Safety Care Training preferred (candidates can be trained if not previously trained)
Endorsement: Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement preferred
