Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired
Location: Davenport, IA
Job Duration: 2025-2026 School Year

Provide exceptional educational support to students with visual impairments in a dynamic K-12 environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives through innovative teaching methods and personalized learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct educational services to students with visual impairments, fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to staff regarding best practices and strategies for supporting visually impaired students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and IEP goals, ensuring compliance with educational standards.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies to promote resources and opportunities for students.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an Endorsement for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with elementary, middle, and high school students preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, staff, and families.
  • Proficiency in using technology and adaptive tools to enhance the learning experience for visually impaired students.
