Position Overview:

We are seeking a Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team and support students in a California School District. This is a remote position that offers flexibility and the ability to make a positive impact on students' education through virtual instruction. As a 1099 independent contractor, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction, creating personalized learning plans, and delivering high-quality support to visually impaired students across the district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual one-on-one and group instruction to students with visual impairments.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other educational professionals.

  • Assess students’ progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to meet their unique needs.

  • Support the use of specialized tools and technologies that aid students with visual impairments in their academic learning.

  • Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to ensure student success.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other required school activities.

  • Adhere to all school district guidelines, policies, and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the state of California.

  • Experience working with students who are visually impaired, ideally in a virtual or hybrid environment.

  • Strong understanding of the unique needs and instructional strategies for students with visual impairments.

  • Proficiency in using virtual platforms and technology for delivering lessons (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting.
