Position Overview:
We are seeking a Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team and support students in a California School District. This is a remote position that offers flexibility and the ability to make a positive impact on students' education through virtual instruction. As a 1099 independent contractor, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction, creating personalized learning plans, and delivering high-quality support to visually impaired students across the district.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide virtual one-on-one and group instruction to students with visual impairments.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other educational professionals.
Assess students’ progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to meet their unique needs.
Support the use of specialized tools and technologies that aid students with visual impairments in their academic learning.
Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to ensure student success.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other required school activities.
Adhere to all school district guidelines, policies, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the state of California.
Experience working with students who are visually impaired, ideally in a virtual or hybrid environment.
Strong understanding of the unique needs and instructional strategies for students with visual impairments.
Proficiency in using virtual platforms and technology for delivering lessons (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting.
