Responsibilities:

• Conduct functional vision and learning assessments for students.

• Provide classroom teachers with effective strategies to support students with visual impairments.
• Consult with staff regarding best practices and resources.
• Develop and supply modified materials to enhance learning experiences.
• Monitor and assess student progress in conjunction with IEP objectives.
• Instruct students on the use of low vision devices to promote independence.

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Teaching Certification with an endorsement in SPED-Blindness/Visual Impairments, PreK-12.
• Strong understanding of assessment tools and educational strategies for students with visual impairments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
