Position: Teacher - Deaf / Hard of Hearing
Location: Greenwood, IN
Job Duration: Full Semester

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide essential support within an educational setting. This role focuses on fostering an inclusive environment where students can thrive despite their hearing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional support to students with hearing impairments.
  • Manage student case conferences and participate in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate closely with the Special Education Team and parents to ensure cohesive care and communication.
  • Document and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences that promote academic and social development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Indiana teaching license in Deaf Education or its equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively interact with students and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and resources for Deaf education.
