Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to the student who is deaf or hard of hearing, facilitating their learning and communication.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with relevant staff.
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods and technologies to enhance the educational experience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to create a comprehensive support system.

Qualifications:

  • Maine TDHH License is required.
  • Previous experience working with preschool or elementary-aged students, preferably in a specialized setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and resources for deaf or hard of hearing students.
