Job Description

An opportunity exists for dedicated professionals specializing in education for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This contract position is located in Charlotte, NC, for the duration of the school year, allowing for meaningful engagement and impact within an educational setting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license in Deaf or Hard of Hearing education.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods.
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families effectively.

Location:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate effective learning experiences.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP documentation.
