Job Description

Support students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic high school environment. This position involves collaborating with fellow educators to create inclusive and engaging learning experiences for all students, particularly in English language arts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience co-teaching and working with high school students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs

Location: Toledo, OH

Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach in two high school English classes, supporting students with special education needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in ELA resource room classes
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lessons and materials
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and faculty regarding student progress and challenges
  • Foster a supportive and positive learning environment that encourages student engagement
