An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to support students in an elementary school setting, focusing on the needs of individuals with autism. This contract position is based in Houston, TX, and involves working full-time within a self-contained classroom for grades K-5.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Texas state license as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly those with autism
• Strong skills in writing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to understand students’ needs and develop tailored educational plans.
• Implement instructional strategies that accommodate diverse learning styles and promote engagement.
• Collaborate with parents, staff, and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment conducive to student growth.
