Job Description

A dedicated Special Education Teacher is sought for an exciting opportunity in a middle school setting in Austin, TX. This position will focus on providing comprehensive educational support to 6th to 8th-grade students with diverse learning needs, specifically in the area of math.

Qualifications:

Valid Texas Special Education Certification
Experience working with middle school-aged students in an inclusion setting
Strong knowledge of best practices in special education
Ability to develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Plans)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Previous experience in teaching math is preferred

Location: Austin, TX

Responsibilities:

Create and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students
Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to enhance the learning environment
Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed
Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation of student progress
Provide support and guidance to paraeducators and other instructional staff as required
