Located in Artesia, NM, this position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to support a high school student with unique educational needs. The role focuses on fostering life skills and social development in a one-on-one setting, tailored to a 17-year-old male student who is non-verbal and autistic.

Qualifications:

• Active NM Special Education license
• Experience working with non-verbal students, particularly in life skills
• Strong background in developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and other educational staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Location:

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement instructional plans aimed at building social skills and confidence
• Collaborate with support staff to create a comprehensive learning environment
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Facilitate positive relationships between the student and peers
• Engage with the school community to encourage student involvement and independence
