Job Description

A long-term contract opportunity is available for a skilled social worker specializing in school settings. This position is based in Hartford, CT, within an elementary school environment, and is designed to cover a leave of absence from mid-April to June 2025, with an extension possible into the fall semester.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher.
  • Valid state license for social work.
  • Experience working in school settings, particularly with elementary students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with educators to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, promoting positive social skills and emotional development.
  • Liaise with families to ensure continuity of care and support outside of school.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and interventions in compliance with school policies.
  • Participate in school meetings and contribute to a positive school climate.
