Job Description

An engaging opportunity is available for a skilled Social Worker specializing in K-12 education. This contract position is based in Flint, MI, and extends from now to June 2025, with the possibility of continuation.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher.
  • Experience in school counseling and/or social work, particularly with K-12 students.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health screening tools and assessments.
  • Strong crisis intervention and counseling skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and educational staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students facing mild to moderate mental health challenges.
  • Administer behavioral health screening tools and assessments to evaluate needs.
  • Conduct crisis interventions and provide brief behavioral support.
  • Gather and integrate information on student behaviors and required supports.
  • Offer short-term individual and small group counseling services.
  • Refer students to more intensive services when necessary.
  • Facilitate consent for treatment and develop treatment plans.
  • Collaborate on building initiatives like Universal Screening for all students.
