Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) for students in grades K-12.
  • Ensure clear communication between teachers, staff, and students during academic activities.
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the diverse needs of students across various grades.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance interpreting skills and stay current with best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards in the interpretation process.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a 4.0 EIPA score and a written test, or RID certification with a written test.
  • Prior experience working in a school setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Flexibility to work full-time or part-time hours as needed.
