An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide valuable services in a dynamic K-12 educational environment located in Lacey, WA. This role can be fulfilled either onsite or virtually, allowing for flexibility while delivering essential support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication between teachers, students, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL).
• Interpret lectures, conversations, and other educational activities in a clear and effective manner.
• Collaborate with school personnel to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Stay updated on advancements in interpreting techniques and relevant educational policies.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 4.0 EIPA score and a written test, or RID certification with a written test.
• Proven experience working in a school setting with K-12 students.
• Excellent command of ASL and a strong understanding of deaf culture.
• Ability to work effectively in both virtual and in-person formats.
