Job Description

Seeking a dedicated professional to provide essential communication support in an educational setting for the remainder of the school year. This full-time contract position is ideal for individuals who meet the required standards and are passionate about facilitating access to education for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
  • Completion of the EIPA written test with a passing score
  • National Interpreter Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) is an asset
  • Previous experience working in K-12 schools preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Location:

  • Tacoma, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classroom settings
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student learning and participation
  • Maintain a professional standard of practice as outlined by the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB)
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, educators, and peers
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
