Job Description

A unique opportunity exists for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support students in a collaborative K-12 school environment in Naples, FL. This role focuses on facilitating communication for two students, one in eighth grade and the other in elementary, ensuring they have the support needed to thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families

Location:

  • Naples, FL

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for assigned students
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate effective communication
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Support students during lunch and transitions to ensure continuous communication
  • Adapt interpretation techniques to meet the varied needs of students across different grade levels
