Certified School Nurse – San Luis Obispo, CA

A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide essential health services in a K-12 setting located in San Luis Obispo, CA. Key Responsibilities:

  • Connect with school secretaries at both sites to review medical forms and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Monitor and manage the expiration dates of EpiPens and medications, addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate immunization records and verify that all required vaccinations are up to date.
  • Prepare and submit yearly reports to the state immunization website, ensuring that all data is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Provide guidance and resources to school staff regarding health protocols and student medical needs.
  • Offer support and care to students with chronic health conditions, creating individualized care plans as necessary.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and health-related incidents in accordance with established protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Certified School Nurse (CSN) license.
  • Strong knowledge of state health regulations and immunization requirements.
  • Experience working in a school setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with school staff.
