Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time 1:1 Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for a medically fragile preschool student in Glendale, AZ. The student is a female preschooler with chronic lung disease, cerebral palsy, and tracheostomy and G-tube dependency.
Schedule & Responsibilities:
- Work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; no school on Wednesday.
- Hours: 3.5 hours per day (from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM), for a total of 14 hours per week.
- Arrive at the student’s house by 7:00 AM to prepare for transportation to school.
- Ensure the student’s health and safety throughout their PreK morning session.
- School ends at 10:00 AM, and the nurse will return the student home by 10:30 AM.
- Provide 1:1 nursing care, including but not limited to:
- Tracheotomy support and monitoring
- Monitoring oxygen saturation levels as needed
- Recognizing and responding to signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
- Managing G-tube feedings and other health-related needs
- Following the student's health care plan to provide necessary nursing interventions
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
- Knowledge of tracheostomy care, G-tube management, and monitoring oxygen saturation levels.
- Strong ability to assess and respond to respiratory distress and other medical needs in a timely manner.
- Compassionate and patient with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the student and their family.
- Reliable transportation to the student’s home for each session.
Additional Information:
- 14 hours per week with a fixed schedule of M, T, Th, F (no school on Wednesday).
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
