A full-time counseling opportunity is available at a school setting in the Summerville, SC area. This contract position calls for a dedicated professional licensed in counseling to support student well-being and emotional health. The role demands strong counseling skills and active collaboration with school staff to foster a positive and supportive environment.
Location: Summerville, South Carolina
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP through May 29, 2026 (contract duration)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling services to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges
- Develop and implement individualized support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Maintain confidential student records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote mental health awareness
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work required
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential preferred, through the South Carolina Licensing Board for Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psycho-Educational Specialists (LLR)
- Experience working with youth in a school or clinical setting beneficial
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
