Job Description

An opportunity exists for an experienced School Counselor to support students in a dynamic K-12 educational environment located in San Bernardino, CA. This contract position is essential for providing guidance and support to middle and transitional program students, fostering their academic and emotional development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Licensure in Counseling
  • PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) credential required
  • Background in School Counseling or related fields, such as MSW, LCSW, ACSW, LMFT, AMFT
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students, particularly in middle schools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents
  • Experience with crisis intervention and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)

Location:
San Bernardino, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing a range of academic and emotional issues
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student needs and develop effective interventions
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation
  • Participate in student support teams and contribute to a positive school environment
  • Conduct assessments and develop tailored action plans for students
  • Deliver workshops and presentations on social-emotional learning and wellness
