Job Description

Sunbelt is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our team and support the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. The ideal candidate will provide counseling services, implement student support programs, and collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to foster a positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, personal, and social challenges.
  • Assist students in developing coping skills, goal setting, and career exploration.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement programs to promote mental wellness, bullying prevention, and conflict resolution.
  • Support students in crisis situations and provide referrals to outside resources when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote student success and well-being.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois School Counselor License
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
