Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team. This remote, 1099 independent contractor position allows you to provide individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in California. You will have access to a clinical and technical support team, as well as a comprehensive toolkit designed to enhance your lessons and help create an inclusive learning environment for your students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote instruction and support for students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to the unique needs of each student
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students’ educational development
  • Utilize adaptive technology and accessible resources to create effective lessons
  • Integrate a comprehensive digital toolkit into virtual lessons to support learning and accessibility

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, with a focus on Visual Impairments
  • Valid California certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments, ideally in remote settings
  • Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills
  • Proficiency with virtual teaching tools and platforms
