Virtual Teacher for Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
Location: Remote (serving students in Nevada)
Contract Duration: Immediate Start – End of School Year (EOSY)
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Are you a skilled and passionate educator with experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing? VocoVision is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to work virtually with a Nevada school district. This position allows you to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the flexibility and convenience of working from home as an independent contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver virtual instruction and support tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet each student’s unique goals.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to foster inclusive and effective learning environments.
- Leverage virtual teaching tools and techniques to create engaging, interactive lessons.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure growth and achievement.
- Provide training and resources to support communication and learning for families and staff.
Qualifications
- Nevada Teaching License with endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Comfortable using technology for instruction and collaboration in a virtual setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Requirements
- A reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional, quiet workspace.
- Familiarity with virtual platforms such as video conferencing, online whiteboards, and other educational technology.
- Availability to align with the scheduling needs of the students and school.
