Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is now hiring an experienced Surgical Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) for an 8-week travel assignment in Pikeville, KY. This short-term opportunity is perfect for an RN looking to work with patients while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Appalachian Mountains.

Requirements:

Active KY or compact state RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med Surg/Ortho
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong skills in orthopedic surgery recovery, including post-op monitoring, pain management, and mobility assistance
Experience with EPIC or other EMR systems preferred
Ability to care for post-surgical patients with joint replacements, fractures, and spine surgeries

Responsibilities:

Provide post-operative care to orthopedic patients, including monitoring vitals, pain management, and early ambulation
Administer medications and wound care, and assist in therapy as needed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for surgical patients
Educate patients and families on post-surgical care plans, rehabilitation, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate documentation and follow all safety protocols
