What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Master’s degree in social work from an accredited university
  • School Social Workers License for IL 
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and social service systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Individual and Group Counseling: Provide short-term counseling to students experiencing emotional or behavioral issues, facilitating both individual and group sessions as needed.
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations, providing immediate support and coordinating resources for students and families in need.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies to support student success and well-being.
  • Resource Referral: Connect students and families with community resources, services, and support systems to address issues such as mental health, housing, and financial instability.
  • Prevention Programs: Develop and implement programs that promote social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and positive behavior.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for students’ needs within the school and broader community, ensuring access to necessary services and supports.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, assessments, and referrals, adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
