Job Description

Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team near Lake Villa, IL. This full-time, contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive educational environment where you will help foster the emotional and academic success of students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation to support the diverse needs of students across all grade levels.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students with emotional and behavioral concerns.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans.
  • Offer consultation and support to staff on strategies for managing students’ mental health and behavior.
  • Crisis intervention and support, as needed, for students experiencing mental health emergencies.
  • Conduct school-wide mental health awareness programs and workshops.
  • Maintain confidential records and documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and work collaboratively with educational staff to create a positive school climate.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a school psychologist endorsement.
  • Previous experience working as a school psychologist is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of psychological assessment, educational interventions, and counseling techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in school psychology.
