Job Description

Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join the team in Rock Hill, SC.

The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting.

As a self-contained teacher, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) and create an inclusive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment.
  • Implement evidence-based teaching strategies to address the unique learning styles and needs of students.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
  • Collaborate with related service providers (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, etc.) to support student development.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support in academic subjects, life skills, and behavioral interventions.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain student progress data to monitor growth and make necessary adjustments to instruction.
  • Maintain communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input based on student assessments and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including those related to special education services.
  • Foster a nurturing, positive, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student self-esteem and social-emotional learning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid state certification in Special Education (K-12 or applicable certification).
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to implement behavioral strategies.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with students, families, and staff.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to student success.
