Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Charge Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Ithaca, NY. Requirements:

Active New York State RN license.
Current certifications: PALS, ACLS, BLS
Preferred certifications: CPI, NIH, TNCC, ENPC
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience, with prior charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
Potential to float to Med/Surg or ICU units as needed

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and coordination of care in the Emergency Department (ED)
Conduct observation, data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs, including physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual care
Coordinate patient movement through the ED, including staff assignments and collaboration with triage nurses, EMS, and community partners
Collaborate with the House Supervisor regarding throughput needs and bed assignments for admissions
Work closely with ward clerks, providers, ED techs, RNs, and crisis evaluators to ensure seamless department operations
Demonstrate professional communication skills, conflict resolution, time management, and organization in a fast-paced environment
