Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Charge Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Ithaca, NY. Requirements:

  • Active New York State RN license.
  • Current certifications: PALS, ACLS, BLS 
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, NIH, TNCC, ENPC
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience, with prior charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
  • Potential to float to Med/Surg or ICU units as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coordination of care in the Emergency Department (ED)
  • Conduct observation, data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs, including physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual care
  • Coordinate patient movement through the ED, including staff assignments and collaboration with triage nurses, EMS, and community partners
  • Collaborate with the House Supervisor regarding throughput needs and bed assignments for admissions
  • Work closely with ward clerks, providers, ED techs, RNs, and crisis evaluators to ensure seamless department operations
  • Demonstrate professional communication skills, conflict resolution, time management, and organization in a fast-paced environment
