Job Description

Job Title: Cardiac Surgical Technologist – Operating Room
Location: Syracuse, New York

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cardiac Surgical Technologist for a 13-week contract at a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center. The position offers evening shifts, 8 hours per day, with no option for 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide surgical technology support in Cardiac cases, including dissections, CABGs, and complex surgeries.
Assist with other specialty surgeries such as orthopedic, general, ENT, vascular, and gynecological cases.
Take on-call duties, including weekday nights (15 hours) and weekend call (24 hours).
Ensure all operating room procedures are carried out efficiently with minimal supervision and orientation.
Maintain a high level of communication and collaboration within the surgical team.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cardiac surgical cases, particularly dissections, CABGs, and complex surgeries.
At least 3 years of recent experience in an operating room, ideally within a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center.
Experience in other specialties, including general, orthopedic, ENT, vascular, and GYN cases.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
Must be available for call, including nights and weekends.
Must be able to perform all general skills required in an acute care setting.

Licenses/Certifications:

Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
ALS (Advanced Life Support) preferred.
