Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a skilled and experienced Travel Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT) for a 13-week assignment in Syracuse, NY. Known for its rich history, scenic landscapes, and vibrant community. 

As a CSPT, you will be a key member of the healthcare team, ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical and medical procedures by maintaining sterile environments and properly handling equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Inspect and maintain the quality and functionality of instruments and equipment, promptly reporting any issues or malfunctions.
  • Prepare and package instrument trays for use in surgical procedures, ensuring proper organization and sterilization methods.
  • Collaborate with the operating room staff to ensure the availability of sterile instruments and equipment when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of sterilization processes and instrument inventory.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines while handling and disposing of hazardous materials.

Requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Sterile Processing Technician.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field.
  • Proficiency in decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work an 8-hour evening shift.
