Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to fill a contract position as a School Nurse in Fremont, CA. This role involves providing specialized 1:1 care to a middle school student who is wheelchair-bound and requires suctioning, ensuring their health and safety throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care and support to a middle school student who is wheelchair-bound and requires suctioning as per their individualized health plan.
Accompany the student on the school bus to and from school, ensuring a safe and comfortable transportation experience.
Monitor the student's health status, including vital signs, respiratory function, and overall well-being.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by the student's healthcare provider and school policies.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene, as needed.
Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing interventions, assessments, and communications related to the student's care.

Qualifications:

Current RN license in the state of California.
Experience with suctioning and caring for students with complex medical needs.
CPR and First Aid certification.
