Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our remote team in California. This 1099 independent contractor position offers the flexibility to work from home while providing specialized educational support to students with visual impairments. You will have access to a clinical and technical team and a comprehensive toolkit to enhance your lessons and assistive technology integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual instruction and support to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and strategies to meet each student’s unique needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective learning environments
  • Use accessible materials, adaptive technology, and modified resources to assist students in learning
  • Integrate a comprehensive digital toolkit into virtual lessons to enhance engagement and accessibility

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, with a focus on Visual Impairments
  • Valid California certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

  • Strong communication, organization, and technology skills
  • Ability to use digital tools and platforms for virtual education
