Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated educator specialized in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This role is set in a vibrant K-12 educational environment located in Washington, DC, and runs from ASAP until June 2025. The position involves working closely with an itinerant caseload ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade, providing essential guidance and support tailored to each student's unique needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Special Education License as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators and staff

Location:

Responsibilities:

  • Implement instructional programs and deliver educational services aligned with students' IEPs
  • Develop, assess, and modify IEP goals to reflect student progress
  • Maintain assessment and evaluation documentation to track achievement
  • Plan and facilitate learning strategies and activities, selecting appropriate materials
  • Create and nurture effective learning experiences to enhance student engagement
